2/2/2015: today you are due

Today you are due sweet girl.
It is raining outside and it is cold. Parts of the country are experiencing a blizzard, we are lucky that is not the case here.

Your daddy left for work this morning, and I was hoping I would get to call him home because you were coming. You have decided you are not quite ready to enter the world yet. I’ve been wishing you’d come for weeks; you are reminding me that I am not in control.
You are stubborn already. I say that comes from your dad, he says that comes from me.

Today the groundhog saw his shadow; we will have six more weeks of winter. At least we will get to spend them with you!

You missed the Super Bowl last night. The Seahawks made a poor call and lost the game in the last seconds. We thought you might understand the importance of football and want to make it in time to catch your first game. Now, you’ll have to wait for fall to cheer for our Ags!

I tell people we are ready for you to come, because we are.
We are ready to squish your cheeks,
and to love you,
and to watch you grow,
and to teach about grace and forgiveness.

We love you so much, are already so proud of you, and so blessed to be your parents.
