Kayaking the Slough

Exploration by water is quickly becoming something we love to do together. It is amazing how beautiful the world is, and how many critters we meet while kayaking. I also love that there are no poisonous snakes in western Washington (read: no Water Moccasins to viciously attack and flip my kayak just to kill me with a slow and painful death).

Recently, we went kayaking in the Mercer Island Slough, through Lilly pads, alongside ducks, and next to banks of wild blackberries. Had it not been after lunch snack time, I could have stayed out there for hours!
