LA for the week

Work sent me to LA for the week, we had a meeting and the timing was perfect. I was in desperate need of some fantastic sunshine and warmth!

For the first time in forever, I broke out my shorts and tevas and went for a hike!

Oh, and I got to drive this gem around:

Chevy spark. Would not recommend this to a friend.

(My apologies for the iPhone pictures)

Until next time,

February, you were good to us

We’re almost through our first winter here in the Pacific Northwest! I’m glad for that. Some things we’ve learned:

1-Ashlee needs more vitamin D then the sun provides (interestingly, red heads can produce their own so that’s probably why John wasn’t affected)

2-From now on, we’re going to take a vacation to someplace warm and sunny over winter

3-Ski resorts must have a hard time making money: most places up here didn’t open up until January because there was a lack of snow. Now, there’s so much snow the roads are closing, avalanches are happening, and people can’t get to the slopes to ski. However, we did make it out a couple of times and, I managed to snap a couple pics of the mountain from my phone.

Also, I said goodbye to a couple of old friends. Back in 2007, against my mothers wishes I bought the most wonderful pair of shoes money could buy. Flash-forward seven years, and they’re ripping and worn, and I really need a new pair. So, for Christmas I asked mom for a replacement. They finally came in!

Believe it or not, these shoes are the exact same style!

So that was February. Short and sweet. (See what I did there, I’m hilarious!)

Until next time,
